The Specialized Therapeutic and Educational preschool (STEP) Program is a unique five day per week program providing a comprehensive range of therapeutic, behavioral and teaching strategies and family supports at an early preschool level. The ultimate outcome is to promote successful transition into kindergarten for children with Autism or on the Autism Spectrum.

All children in the program will benefit from:

· A four day per week, 4-5 hour per day class with a maximum of 1:3 staff to child ratio. Gradual transition to full class duration available based on individual needs.

· Specific, individualized programming integrating a range of developmental, therapeutic and behavioral strategies including PECS, TEACCH, Assistive and Alternative Communication, Sensory, ABA, DIR principles and others, into a preschool curriculum.

· Individualized Behavior Plan developed with team including parents and BCBA.

· OT, PT, SLP, BCBA consulting in the classroom.

· Therapy- led group activities.

· On-site inclusion activities with peers from Abilities First Early Childhood Learning Center Preschool classroom.

· Home and/ or school visits to promote carryover of learning, parent support and Kindergarten transition.

· Individual PT, OT and SLP services as identified on the child’s IEP or IFSP. Additional therapies available (may be billed to insurance or private pay).

· Additional individual ABA sessions available at extra cost (not covered by insurance).

· Autism Scholarship and Private Pay accepted. Assistance provided with Autism Scholarship Application.

· Before and after- preschool and year-round childcare on-site. In an inclusive 2 Star Rated Step Up to Quality center at additonal cost with Private Pay or ODJFS payor approval accepted.
