Thanks to Senator William P. Coley II, from Ohio's 4th Senatorial District

Thanks to Senator William P. Coley II, from Ohio's 4th Senatorial District, for paying tribute to Abilities First for empowering people with disabilities to reach their uniqiue potential for 60 years. The formal recognition from the General Assembly of the State of Ohio says:
"On behalf of the members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio, we are pleased to pay tribute to Abilities First as it commemorates the Sixtieth Anniversary of its founding
Recognition of the milestone is fitting, for Abilities First has played a vital role in preparing area residents with disabilities to meet the challenges of their future. The organization was founded by a group of neighborhood families who recognized a need for services for children with disabilities, and it provides such services as education, job training, summer and adult day programs as well as adult residential facilities. By giving of their time energy, and abilities far beyond what is required of expected, the administrators and staff of this exemplary group have earned the gratitude and respect of countless Middletown families.
Abilities First provides clients with much more than basic education skills and by participating in the many activities, the people learn the value of such important qualities as cooperation, self-discipline, and perseverance and develop intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. As they take part in this Sixtieth Anniversary celebration, the clients and staff, both past and present, can be justly proud of this fine institution.
Thus, it is with genuine applause that we recognize Abilities First on its Sixtieth Anniversary and salute all those who help to make this venture an industry leader.”
