Giving Opportunities
The Abilities First Development Department offers a number of ways you can support local children with disabilities.
Here are some ways you can help:

Estate Planning
Estate planning is the transfer of an estate through planning and implementation of an estate plan in order to maintain the financial security of individuals, families and favorite charitable organizations.
Gifts of Stock
With the strong performance of the market, it may be particularly advantageous to make gifts of stocks. If you own stocks, mutual funds or other securities that have increased in value, and you have owned them for more than a year, it can be wise to use them to make charitable gifts.
The new law retained the tax benefits that benefits making a gift this way. You may still claim a deduction for their full market value, not just the amount you paid, and you do not have to pay capital gains tax if you gift them to charity. This opportunity is available to everyone, whether or not you itemize deductions.
Whatever option you are interested in, check with your tax advisor to determine what would be best for you.
Wills & Bequests
If you want to leave a legacy to Abilities First, naming us as one of your beneficiaries in your will is an option. Wills, life insurance policies, retirement accounts and other planning methods can offer special ways to leave a lasting legacy to charitable interests. “I give, devise and bequeath (A) (written description of what you wish to give) to Abilities First Foundation, whose legal address is 4710 Timber Trail Drive, Middletown, OH 45044, for (B) (stated purpose or use of gift).”
What you wish to give, for example:
* The sum of $ ………………………..
* ……% of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate
* ……… shares of ……………, or other written description of a specific asset / type of property *
How you would like Abilities First to use your generous gift? For example:

Charitable Trust
A Charitable Reminder Trust is an irrevocable trust that pays a specified annual amount to one or more people for a fixed period of years –often the lifetime of the donor. At the end of the term of the trust, the remaining assets are distributed to a specified charity.
A Charitable Lead Trust donates a portion of the trust to designated charities and, after a specified period of time, transfers the remainder of
the trust to the beneficiaries or heirs.
