Hello Golfers & Abilities First Supporters!

We are so happy to confirm that we have rescheduled our Abilities First 16th Annual Golf Classic at Wildwood Golf Club, Middletown, Ohio, for Friday, September 18, 2020. We are planning another exciting day of golf with great food, games and activities, and a silent auction. Out of consideration and respect for everyone, we are making some changes to the format for this year; from the way we register and start our event, providing our lunch and dinner “to go” and having raffles, silent auctions and some other activities.

Like many non-profit organizations across the nation, Abilities First faces difficult circumstances as a result of the pandemic. For more than 62 years, this agency has been enriching the lives of children, young adults living with disabilities and families, through innovative programs that focus on abilities, potential, community partnership and inclusion, so all can live their best possible lives. In order to make this event a success, at this time perhaps more than ever, we really need the support of our friends and the community at large.

Our priority is to ensure that we can continue to provide our unique, integrated model of essential childcare, specialized therapy for children birth through young adults, developmental, social supports and specialized education services to the population and community that we serve. We do not want the families to have to choose between access to these needed services over their, and their children’s safety, health and other basic needs. Your participation will enable Abilities First to further develop our quality services and deliver them in ways that best support the changed and evolving needs.

The families and children we serve at Abilities First, include some of our most vulnerable community members; they live day to day with fragile health, developmental, social, economic, educational and mental health challenges. Because of the ongoing effects of this pandemic, many have lost jobs, access to health insurance and childcare, in-person-in-school education for their children, and are even faced with having to choose whether they can return to work if they have a job, or will have to be at home in order to care for and educate their children in the fast approaching school year. There is significantly more stress, anxiety and general physical and mental health well-being challenges for everyone, including children and families we support and the uncertainty continues.

We hope you’ll join us by participating in a fabulous event that includes 18 holes with cart, lunch, dinner, drinks, and snacks throughout the day, a variety of games, contests and a silent auction. Your support will help make this event a huge success.

Thank you for putting in a team
